Ovulation induction is one of the important aspects of infertility treatment. Anovulatory patients or patients with pcos who fail to ovulate spontaneously need such treatment. The commonest medicines used are clomiphene citrate. Those who fail to respond to clomiphene may need additional gonadotropins for the same. Letrozole is also an alternative for patients who do not respond to clomiphene. Along with these medicines, patients with pcos may also require weight management and also the use of insulin sensitizers. Patients with poor ovarian reserve would require additional dhea along with ovulation induction drugs.
