Pelvic inflammatory disease or pid is an important cause of infertility. Tubal infection can damage the tubes causing tubal blocks and thus infertility. Uterine infection can cause endometritis, intrauterine adhesions and failure of implantation. Tuberculosis causing pid and other causes like chlamydial infection need to be treated
