Let us discuss certain aspects of Male Infertility. Azoospermia is a condition where there is complete absence of sperms in the semen. A person is labelled as Azoospermic only when 3 semen samples do not show any sperms. This can be due to damage to the sperm producing cells which is called testicular failure . This can also result from blockage of the Vas or absence of the Vas where sperm production is normal but it cannot be delivered outside. These can be differentiated by doing serum FSH and Testosterone levels. FSH levels are increased in testicular failure. Oligospermia is a condition of low sperm count and Asthenospermia means low motility of the sperms Diabetes and Varicocele are important contributory factors.
