Tubal factor is a very important cause of infertility, both primary and secondary. Tubal infections, caused by Chlamydia and tuberculosis can cause severe tubal damage and hence infertility. Endometriosis by causing peritubal and pelvic adhesions indirectly cause infertility by hampering egg pickup after ovulation. Ectopic or pregnancy outside the uterus can also be caused by tubal infections.
